CSR IN DK COMPANY

DK Company collaborates with factories that are committed to increase sustainability in our supply chain and ensuring that working conditions are decent.
Most of our products are manufactured in developing countries where the income that families generate from the textile industry can be important to their livelihood,
and we are proud to be part of creating jobs there.
However, we do recognise that there are challenges that must be dealt with, and we believe in a continuous dialogue with the factories to improve working conditions
and making sure that they work in accordance with the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct.
We have a dedicated team in Denmark, China, India, Bangladesh and Turkey who work with sustainability every day.

OUR STRATEGY

Our CSR Strategy is based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The United Nations (UN) has ratified a list of 17 goals to transform our world and make it better.
These 17 goals are achievable before 2030 and concern subjects such as how to eradicate poverty and hunger and ensure good health, education and gender equality for all.

7. Affordable and Clean Energy

By mapping our energy- & fuel consumption, and based on calculations achieved, gradually we will increase implementation of more sustainable energy within our facilities. Through these initiatives, and in accordance with the Danish Climate Legislation of Dec. 2019, our ambition of reducing our CO2 emission by 70% in 2030 is to be fulfilled.

8. Decent work and economic growth

Because we know that we work in an industry where there are challenges when it comes to the production of the goods we sell.
We work hard to ensure that our production is responsible, and we want to communicate clearly to our customers what we do to have a responsible production chain so that they can make an enlightened choice when they shop for clothes. (please see the "audits at the factories" section) Furthermore, we want to contribute to communicating the responsibility we all have as consumers when it comes to our environmental footprint, and how we can reduce this by e.g. making sure our clothes last longer.

12. RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION

Because we are in an industry where the consumption of materials is high, we constantly aim to keep us updated regarding new materials which are a more sustainable choice. Based on knowledge and close collaboration with our suppliers we are sourcing preferred materials for the planet.
To take responsibility for our supply chain we are educating our suppliers and offices on preferred fibers and new standard for materials and fibers.

13. Climate Action

By means of our Chemical restrictions as well as our Material-/Fiber- & Packaging Strategy 2020->2025 providing specific goals and measures, we aim to increase the utilization of sustainable and recycled materials, and hereby contribute to reducing pressure on natural resources and the environment. (In addition, please see SDG no. 7 as to our ambition of reducing our CO2 emission by 70% in 2030)

17. Partnerships

To be able to reach our goals we need to work together with both colleagues, authorities, NGO’s and global organizations. We need to cooperate to scale up best practices. We are very proud of our work with our partners.
